Growing My Skills at Crowd Digital Marketing

My name is Rachael Facey, and for the past two and a half years I’ve worked as the Content Coordinator at Crowd Digital Marketing while living in Denver, Colorado. During my time with Crowd, I’ve had the opportunity to grow professionally, creatively, and personally in ways I never expected when I first started.

When I first joined the company, I came into the role with very limited hands-on marketing experience. Over the past few years, that completely changed. I’m leaving with a much stronger understanding of digital marketing, creative strategy, and the confidence to take on challenges independently.

During my time with Crowd, I had the opportunity to work across many areas of marketing. I gained experience managing Google Ads campaigns, creating social media content for a wide range of clients, writing blog content, and working with businesses across industries including nonprofits, service companies, entertainment, and real estate. One of the biggest skills I developed was website design through the Duda platform.

Website design quickly became one of my favorite parts of the job. In the beginning, I relied heavily on guidance from my boss, Alex, who helped walk me through the process of building websites from scratch. Over time, I gained confidence and independence, and eventually began building full websites with very little oversight. Looking back, it’s rewarding to see how much I grew creatively and professionally throughout that process.

I also learned a lot about campaign development and strategy. Working closely with Alex, along with spending time learning independently through YouTube and personal research, helped me better understand how to build stronger campaigns and think more strategically about marketing performance and client goals.

My Next Chapter: Graduate School at Edinburgh

Now, I’m excited for my next chapter: pursuing my Master of Science in Marketing at The University of Edinburgh. The university is ranked among the top universities in the UK and is known for its diverse international student community. I’m excited to continue building my marketing knowledge while further establishing myself within the marketing industry.

Beyond academics, I’m looking forward to the experience of living in a different country, meeting people from all over the world, and gaining new perspectives both personally and professionally.

How Crowd Prepared Me for the Future

My experience at Crowd Digital Marketing and Crowd for Causes showed me how creative marketing can be. It also helped me develop strong organizational skills, time management, and independence. These are all qualities that I believe will help me thrive in a postgraduate environment where self-motivation and initiative are incredibly important.

I’m especially thankful to Alex for giving me the space to learn, grow, and become more independent throughout my time at the company. Having the opportunity to explore different areas of marketing and develop real-world experience has played a major role in preparing me for this next adventure.

I’m excited to see where this next chapter leads!

Most people imagine a digital marketing agency as a place where social posts get created, ads get launched, and reports get sent out at the end of the month. The reality is far less simple—and a lot more strategic. Behind the scenes, agencies are constantly analyzing data, adjusting campaigns, and making decisions in real time to improve performance and drive measurable growth.

Search engine optimization is often misunderstood. Many businesses assume that adding a few keywords to their homepage or publishing an occasional blog post is enough to improve rankings. When traffic does not increase, they conclude that SEO simply does not work for their industry. In reality, most SEO challenges stem from structural issues, inconsistent strategy, or incomplete implementation rather than a lack of opportunity. If your SEO efforts are not producing results, the solution is rarely more content alone. It starts with addressing the foundation.

When businesses think about redesigning their website, the first word that usually comes to mind is “refresh.” New colors. Updated fonts. Modern layout. But a high-performing website redesign is not about aesthetics. It is about performance. A strong website should generate leads, drive sales, improve search visibility, simplify content management, and clearly communicate your brand. If it only looks better but does not function better, it is not a redesign. It is decoration.

You’re getting traffic. People are clicking your ads. They’re finding you on Google. They’re even browsing your pages. But the leads? The calls? The form submissions? Crickets. If your website isn’t converting, the problem usually isn’t traffic. It’s what happens after someone lands on your site. Here’s where to start.

If your website looks good but isn’t bringing in leads, you are not alone. This is one of the most common frustrations we hear from business owners. The site isn’t “bad.” It loads, it functions, and it might even get traffic. But it still feels like it’s underperforming. The truth is, your website probably isn’t broken. It just isn’t working hard enough. A strong website does more than exist online. It guides visitors, tells a clear story, builds trust, and motivates action. When one of those pieces is missing, results stall.

If your website feels outdated, you are probably not imagining it. Design standards, user expectations, and search engine requirements evolve quickly, and what worked even a few years ago may now be holding your business back. Your website is often the first impression customers have of your brand. When it feels slow, cluttered, or difficult to use, visitors notice and often leave before taking action. Below are some of the most common reasons websites start to feel outdated, and what modern websites do differently.
